OUR SPEAKER

As a mother of two teens and as an IT Director and Computer teacher in her children’s school for 7 years, Carol has a personal investment in and commitment to quality education. Her extensive research into the federal Common Core Standards program produced such serious concerns about its impact that Carol felt compelled to run for the Daniel Boone School Board on which she now serves as a Director.

Carol will be presenting her own research and first-hand experience in conjunction with a video presentation by Dr. Peg Luksik, who, with 30 years experience in education and specifically various federal educational programs, is perhaps the foremost expert in Pennsylvania on the origin, content, and impact of the Common Core Standards. Dr. Luksik has testified before numerous legislative committees in and out of state with indisputable proof of her allegations drawn directly from Common Core and government documents.

Some patriots believe that the only solution is to call a Convention of States and pass “Liberty Amendments” to the Constitution that would force the federal government to comply with constitutional and fiscal guidelines. Some patriots believe that such a Convention would be not only ineffective, but dangerous. Join us to hear both sides and decide what you can do to preserve our Constitution and our freedom.

We hope you have all had a restful summer. We took an August break but look forward to seeing you for an insightful meeting. The meeting will start with a short segment of the Constitutional Literacy series produced by Michael Farris. It’s an excellent series and quite inspiring as we are reminded of the struggle that culminated in the final drafting of our Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787.We welcome back Dr. Jim Arcieri as our speaker for the evening. Jim was one of our speakers at our July meeting. As a pastor at the Community Bible Fellowship Church in Red Hill, Pa. and a board member on the Pennsylvania Pastor’s Network, Jim spoke of the need to activate churches as to their role in our Constitutional Republic and hinted at the deeper, underlying causes of the problems we now face as a nation. He is also an educator and author, specializing in American history and philosophy. He will present the topic: ” America’s Amnesia: recovering our memory of past foundations for a preferred future.” Dr Arcieri will examine why 100 years of conservative efforts have failed to make a significant and sustainable cultural change, while offering a plan for restoring liberty in our post-Constitutional climate.

Find out what we can to do in order to be more effective in the fight to save our great country. Invite friends, family and church members for an inspirational evening. Join us to make a difference! Let our resolve be renewed as we are reminded of all that has led us to this day and what tomorrow may hold!

Subject:	Proposed Legislation: Property Tax Elimination

In the near future, it is my intention to re-introduce property tax elimination legislation for the 2013-2014 legislative session.

This legislation would provide for the following:

Property taxation would be eliminated over six years, with a 33 percent reduction in school property taxes in the first year alone.
In years one through three, Pennsylvania’s personal income tax would be increased from 3.1 percent to 4.6 percent while the state sales tax would be increased from 6 percent to 9 percent. In years four through six, municipalities would increase the earned income tax and/or personal income tax.
Voter approval of local tax increases would be required unless the increases are for health or safety reasons.
General Fund surpluses, minus the amount that must be deposited in the Budget Stabilization Reserve Fund, would be used to reduce the personal income tax rate.

The result of this legislation would be a revenue neutral change – neither state nor local government would collect more or less tax money than what was previously required to fund government services, particularly public education.
